The Designer
Born in a small seaside town in Tuscany, since I was little, chubby and full of freckles, I have always felt an extreme attraction for everything that sparkled. I preferred jewels and fabrics to toys, I preferred shoes and bags to sweets; everything that was super glamorous caught my attention. While my mother dressed me like Pippi Long Socks every February, I tried to dress my collection of 52 Barbies like those young ladies in the shop windows who were more and more beautiful from season to season.
Thanks to the passions that my father passed on to me, I decided to enter this creative world that teaches you to see things with your own eyes and to externalize an extremely conceptual universe into something tactile, in order to always give the eyes of the beholder something new.
Drawing and photography have always accompanied my educational growth. The world of Fashion System had not yet struck my heart, until my feet found themselves at the Academy of Costume and Fashion in Rome, and it was love at first sight. I was inexperienced but exuberant like my dreams.
To this day, those walls smell like home to me and every time I enter I feel a sense of freedom and inner fullness that reverberates in my heart. I grew up there, that's where they put me to the test, that's where I understood my abilities and my limits, that's where I met and polished Sofia and understood what her place in the world was.
Leather goods were the perfect combination to tell what had been the impositions of the world and the tortuous alleys of my life. What it allowed me to achieve was exactly what I wanted to achieve and I understood that from then on it would be for me like Cupid's bow and arrows.
The Brand
After a series of Feedback from people in the Fashion System world who advised me to start my own business for my strong ability to express myself, at the end of 2021 I decided to start working on this crazy idea called RUJ HERITAGE; but on the other hand the most difficult and craziest challenges are always the most satisfying. In a fortune cookie I found written "You start with small things to have great successes", that evening I made the decision to put myself on the line, because sometimes small pushes and coincidences of fate are enough to start an adventure.
Founded on three pillars such as craftsmanship, made in Italy and sustainability, RUJ HERITAGE items are also characterised by their limited availability.
Carefully crafted throughout their manufacturing process, from the choice of raw materials, leather, fabric, color, metal quality to the packaging closure. RUJ HERITAGE items are purely and exclusively handcrafted, with a significant amount of time dedicated to each individual product. The design of each Model is studied with the aim of making the item transversal for every occasion and moment of the day.
Green values
Making eco-sustainable fashion means working in a protected supply chain, aimed at minimizing waste, pollution and exploitation of workers, because "sustainability" is not only ecology, but also concerns the social aspect of production.
Ruj Heritage believes it is important to make consumers understand the "Buy Better" philosophy with social and environmental ethics. In its small reality Ruj is committed to the search for raw materials among warehouses and stocks throughout Italy with the aim of reducing waste in the fashion system and recycling the raw material by reintroducing it under a new design back into the market, contributing to alleviating global pollution. Furthermore, limited production is a choice of this brand to always alleviate pollution: producing little and well, avoiding waste and inventory. Therefore enhancing the article of an exclusive uniqueness.
"Sustainability" is above all a philosophy, a culture, a history: choosing a sustainable and Italian product means buying something unique that has all the flavor of the most beautiful Italy, thus giving an important contribution to our economy, ensuring that large, but above all, small companies continue to develop.
Reusing materials is one of the most important levers that the fashion industry can use to reduce its environmental impact, also called "closed-loop recycling", which consists of limiting the production of virgin raw materials and reducing waste through the cyclical use of already existing materials.
